Celebrating the Power of Stories: Holme Grange to Hosts Inspiring Literary Fest
Holme Grange School is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated Literary Festival, taking place on 2 and 3 April 2025.
This two-day celebration of books, storytelling and creativity promises to ignite imaginations and foster a deep love of reading across the school community, from Little Grange to Eaton Grange.
The festival features a stellar line-up of acclaimed authors and illustrators, offering pupils the unique opportunity to meet the creative minds behind some of their favourite books:
- Patrice Lawrence – award-winning author of Orangeboy and Needle
- Holly Bourne – bestselling YA author of Am I Normal Yet? and The Places I’ve Cried in Public
- Ali Sparkes – creator of the Shapeshifter series and Frozen in Time
- Martin Brown – illustrator of the beloved Horrible Histories series
- Sufiya Ahmed – author of Secrets of the Henna Girl and My Story: Noor-Un-Nissa Inayat Khan
- Maz Evans – creator of the popular Who Let the Gods Out? series
- Seth Burkett – author and former footballer known for Tekkers and sports-themed fiction
- Korky Paul – iconic illustrator of the Winnie and Wilbur books, famous for his wildly imaginative artwork
Pupils will take part in exciting workshops, live Q&As, readings and book signings. These sessions are designed to inspire creativity and deepen pupils’ appreciation for storytelling, both written and illustrated.

- Creative writing and drawing workshops for all key stages
- Pop-up bookshops and signing opportunities

- Special events led by the school’s English and library teams
