Giggleswick Pupils Shine at Blackburn Festival of Music

Giggleswick pupils hit all the right notes at the Blackburn Festival of Music, delivering outstanding performances that showcased their talent and dedication. Held at Westholme School, the festival saw Elsa, Autumn, Camille, Lola, Bella, and Lillian take to the stage with poise, passion, and incredible musicality.

Each of them impressed the judges and they walked away with lots of prizes, a testament to their hard work and skill. Bella had an especially remarkable festival, securing first place in every category she entered. Her exceptional performances earned her an invitation to the prestigious gala concert, in which she competed for the title of ‘Most Promising Musician’. Bella was awarded the 'Most promising vocalist 2025'.

On Sunday, Lillian performed in the Piano Recital class and was placed an impressive fifth out of eleven competitors, including students from conservatoires such as the Royal Northern College of Music. Lillian commented that 'it has been interesting and inspiring to compete with players at such a high standard, and great to have the experience of playing in a public competition, such as this'.

Director of Music, Mr Darren Everhart, said, 'huge congratulations to all the students for their achievements and for representing Giggleswick School so brilliantly! We are incredibly proud of them all!'
