Announcing our Amazing Arkwright Scholars
We are delighted that two of our pupils have been awarded the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, one of the most esteemed scholarships of its type.
Zoe H and Olly W faced tough competition as 2024 saw a record year for entries with 1530 other applicants.
The selection process is rigorous and Canford only enter pupils who demonstrate exceptional potential and prove they are the best in their field.
The scholarship is designed to inspire pupils to pursue their dreams and change the world as outstanding engineers in the future.
Named after Sir Richard Arkwright, an 18th-century industrialist and inventor, credited with being one of the founding figures of the Industrial Revolution.

We are delighted that Zoe and Olly have achieved Arkwright Scholarships. They have shown outstanding potential in design achieving the two top spots in their GCSE results this year. I look forward to supporting them take their next steps towards being excellent engineers to watch for the future.'
Zoe will be sponsored by South West Water and Olly by the Royal Air Force.
