The New Beacon Celebrates Marcus' Outstanding Achievements in UK Ski Racing
The New Beacon is proud to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Year 7 pupil, Marcus, as the UK ski race season comes to a close.
Competing since April, Marcus has demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication, achieving multiple prestigious titles both at school, regional, and national levels.
Representing The New Beacon, Marcus secured three individual wins in school competitions and claimed victory in the LSERSA (London & South East Region Ski Association) race series for his age group for the fourth consecutive year. At the national level, Marcus became the U12 “All England Champion” on dry slope and the U12 “British Champion” on indoor snow, further solidifying his standing as one of the top young ski racers in the country.
While skiing is predominantly an individual sport, Marcus also demonstrated strong leadership skills by captaining The New Beacon team to a 2nd place finish in the Kent Schools Championships. Additionally, as captain of the Bromley Race Club A-team ‘minis,’ he led the team to a 3rd place finish in the LSERSA series and was selected to represent the Eastern region in the highly competitive “Tri-Regional” event.
"We are incredibly proud of Marcus and his achievements this season," said a representative of The New Beacon. "His commitment to the sport and leadership in both individual and team competitions is inspiring. Marcus’ success showcases the depth of talent and determination our pupils have, and we are excited to see what the future holds for him."
With the winter ski season on the horizon, The New Beacon community eagerly anticipates Marcus’ continued success on the slopes. Congratulations to Marcus and the entire team for their outstanding efforts this summer!
