Congratulations to Serenna who has won the Young Creative of the Year Award.
Congratulations to Art student, Serenna who has won the coveted Young Creative of the Year Award. Serenna was nominated by our Head of Art, Mr Russell who explained that throughout 2023 Serenna has shown extraordinary commitment and talent as an artist. Last summer she worked diligently on completing a commission she had been given by SWPS school’s governing body, to paint a portrait in oils of the retiring Headteacher, Mr Muller. The finished portrait shows incredible ability, sensitivity, and maturity as an artist. Serena’s GCSE exam board – Edexcel, have borrowed all her Art GCSE coursework to show art teachers across the country as an example of exceptional excellence in GCSE. During last year’s October half-term Serenna went on an overseas school Art trip to Barcelona, and since her return she has completed 20 A3 pages of work containing her artistic responses to the visit.
Serenna was present her trophy at the Runnymede Civic Awards held at Foxhills Country Club. The judges specifically acknowledged Serenna's portrait of Mr. Muller, which propelled her to secure the first place and be declared as the winner. Congratulations Serenna on this outstanding accomplishment.
