Cumnor House Sussex announces new Performing Arts Scholarships
Cumnor House Sussex has an outstanding reputation for the performing arts, built upon the belief that self-expression through music, movement, dance and storytelling is fundamental to a wide and varied curriculum. Combined with dynamic leadership, a commitment to excellence and state of the art facilities, Cumnor House Sussex (Cumnor) offers children the opportunity to unleash their creativity, hone their talents, collaborate and, above all, to try something new.
As part of the school’s commitment to co-educational opportunities, Cumnor is delighted to announce its first Performing Arts Scholarships for children starting Year 7 in September 2024. Open to children who not only show exceptional talent in either Music, Drama or Dance, or promising talent in two of the disciplines, the school is seeking passionate candidates who are dedicated to personal practice and development.
“Performing Arts have always been a vital part of a Cumnor education”, comments Headmaster Mr Llewellyn, “and, in conjunction with Kudos, our new curriculum for Year 7 and 8, the Scholarships provide an amazing opportunity for children to flourish as they head towards GCSEs, A-Levels and beyond.”
Aspiring performers can showcase their talents at Cumnor through intimate ‘Coffee Concerts’ in the Music Barn, high-octane musicals in the contemporary Theatre and a magical Shakespeare production, immersed in nature, on the outdoor stage.
The results speak for themselves and over the past five years, Cumnor pupils have secured 34 Performing Arts Scholarships to their senior schools of choice across Sussex and further afield. Children leave Cumnor feeling inspired, confident of who they are and what they can do, ready for the next stage of life.
