Denstone College GCSE Success

Following the success of A Level results last week, Denstone College is once celebrating again after an exceptional set of GCSE results, published today.

With a return to 2019 grading standards, many schools would have been preparing for a drop in outcomes compared with 2022, but not for Denstone College who have seen an increase in the total number of grades awarded an 8 or a 9.

For scores of a children, an average grade of 7 or above (the equivalent of an ‘A’ in the old system of grading) reflects years of hard work and dedication despite interruption to their formative years at Denstone College as a result of the pandemic.

With high aspirations and expectations of all of our children, we are thrilled to have been duly rewarded. GCSEs mark an important stepping stone in the continued educational journey of our children and we look forward to seeing them flourish in the Sixth Form.

But as with all examinations, GCSEs alone do not measure success. Our pupils have achieved these results whilst contributing so thoroughly to our extra- and co-curricular programmes to make them rounded individuals.

Head, Lotte Tulloch, is incredibly proud of her charges and knows the future is bright.
