Luke leads National Youth Orchestra of Wales

Congratulations to Luke Doyle (Lower Sixth) who was appointed Leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales during the Easter holiday. Luke is one of the youngest leaders ever!

Mr Smith, Co-ordinator of Strings Studies, commented;

“This is a superb achievement and wonderful opportunity for Luke. He has already proved in ensembles at Wells that he is an excellent leader and will no doubt excel in this exciting role."

Alex Laing, Director of Music, added;

“We are pleased and proud of Luke’s appointment as leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. It is quite an accolade to get this chair, especially as he got it so young. It is a testament not only to the quality of his violin playing, but also of his musicianship and his ability to inspire those around him.”
