Embracing Beaudesert Park School for Children’s Mental Health Week (+ link to video)

Beaudesert Park School recently celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week, which culminated in a collective ‘embrace’ of the School with over 400 children and staff involved.

Children’s Mental Health Week is run annually by the charity Place2Be, which provides mental health support in schools across the UK.

At Beaudesert Park, children were encouraged to think about making healthy, rewarding and meaningful connections as part of this year’s theme, ‘Let’s Connect.’

During break time, activities were arranged to encourage connection across year groups, which saw the children playing chess, card games and other ‘connection’ based games.

The children also ‘dressed to express’ at the end of the week, and came together to physically ‘embrace Beaudesert’. The whole school community of children, teachers, administration and catering staff joined hands in a loop that wove in and out of school buildings, to show how each person at the school is connected to one another.

Head of Pre-Prep, Anna Packman, said, “At Beaudesert Park School, our children’s happiness, success and wellbeing are at the core of all we do. We build in opportunities each day, year round, to uphold healthy bodies and minds.”

“Children’s Mental Health Week was our chance to emphasise rewarding and healthy connections, and embracing the entire school gave us the opportunity to unify, to celebrate and to have fun!”
