Saint Ronan's School: Home of Amazing Animals

Have you ever heard of a school where donkeys cheer louder than children at cricket matches? Where pigs join in with children’s chatter as they walk between classes? Where peacocks tap at classroom windows to show the children their magnificent feathers?  Well, this happens at Saint Ronan’s School.

To me, Saint Ronan’s is my brilliant school, however, to many incredible animals, it is their home.

We are lucky enough to have a farm at our school where you can find gorgeous guinea pigs, glorious goats, cheeky chickens, delightful donkeys, picky pigs, shameless sheep and brilliant bunnies.  We learn how to look after the animals, how to feed them and even how to stroke them.  I love collecting eggs from the chickens and putting the donkeys in their stables when it starts to rain but my favourite thing of all is cuddling the soft, fluffy guinea pigs.

Just opposite Paradise Farm is Hyde Park (the Pre-Prep play area) and this is home to Basil the duck.  He loves to wander around the park, joyfully quacking at the children, while Andrea’s cat strolls past and the peacocks watch from the rooftops.

If the animals could speak, I think they would say that Saint Ronan’s is the most wonderful place to live!

We'd also like to give a shout out to Lois in Year 7, highly commended by our judges.
