The Elms School Launches Exciting New Outreach Project
Teachers at The Elms School, Colwall, are offering online lessons in maths and English for children who need extra educational support in the Key Stage Two years (years 3-6).
This breaks down into two elements:
1. To compensate for the cancellation of SATs, the school is offering free online testing in Maths and English with a short report as to what might need to be put in place to help address any areas that are not as strong as they might be. More details .
2. The Elms is offering 15 hours a week of maths and English teaching at a cost of £10 per hour until the end of the lockdown period. These lessons will be delivered by two experienced former teachers from The Elms. More details .

Headteacher Chris Hattam says: ‘My hope is that as a school we are able to use our experience gained through last lockdown to support children at a vital stage of their education.’
Chairman of Governors Simon Townsend says: ‘In 2020, we heard many stories about children who did not receive the same opportunities as our own pupils who are continuing to receive an outstanding education from our dedicated teaching staff. There is a strong sense of community at The Elms with teachers and pupils past and present and, without disrupting our normal school day, we think it is right to support the community by offering this service.’
