Bursaries
Alongside its general bursary scheme, which is open to all prospective pupils at any entry point and means-tested, Caterham operates a number of more specialised fee-remission schemes:
– The William Wilberforce Bursary, worth up to 100 per cent of school tuition fees (and transport) awarded to an exceptional day-school candidate applying for sixth form. Any prospective pupil from a low-income family can apply.
– The means-tested Eynon Award is available for the children of former pupils of Caterham and Eothen Schools. It is based on academic attainment, but the size of the award depends on the applicant’s family’s financial position.
– United Reformed Church Bursaries are available for the children of URC clergy. These can represent up to 100 per cent of the fees. Awards are also based on academic attainment, but their size depends on financial need.
