Belhaven Hill School

An absolute gem and a serious contender for Scotland’s smartest prep, with kilts worn on high days and holidays. Co-ed and full boarding, Belhaven Hill sends its pupils on to the UK’s top public schools.Set in a beautiful coastal location – it’s a skip across the road to the beach, a scramble over the wall to the golf course and (almost) jumping distance into the sea – Belhaven Hill sits in a 10-acre site on the edge of Dunbar (which claims to get more sunshine than anywhere else in Scotland). It’s a peachy spot, and just a 45-minute drive from Edinburg...

    Bursaries
Belhaven maintains a strong commitment to provide access to children from all walks of life as a continuation of its original role as an educational charity. Bursaries of up to 100 per cent of fees are awarded at the discretion of the Governors based on a means-test, which includes a review of a family’s circumstances, income and capital resources.  The School employs independent financial assessors to calculate the level of award needed and all awards are subject to an annual review.

The school also operates an ‘Eagle Fund’, designed to offer additional help to existing bursary holders with costs of extras, including uniform, travel to and from school, extra-curricular activities and school trips.

For more information as well as a detailed breakdown of the application process, please see the school website:
