This tiny rural Perthshire prep is proud of its Scottish heritage, with reeling, a pipe band and whole-school Barvicks – expeditions to explore the Strathearn countryside – all part of the education here (we also like the sound of the annual ’Ard Challenge, a yomp through a glen for families and staff that culminates with a carnival on the shores of Loch Tay). The school punches above its weight in sports and is the only prep north of the border to offer .22rifle shooting. For headmistress Ali Kinge, social skills and manners are as important as academics....
