Sandwiched between the North Sea and the Yorkshire Moors, outdoor education sits front and centre at Scarborough College. Here, academic work is complemented by a weekly ‘Yorkshire Grit’ programme, where children get stuck into character-building activities including rock-climbing, paddle-boarding and raft-building. Sport gets top billing too – this is one of the top hockey schools in the north east, while a dedicated Cricket Centre of Excellence nurtures future stars. In the sixth form, pupils work towards the IB, and results are consistently strong....
